Amazing day for BHWHG!
Valerie Mainstone, Debbie Waldon and Maria Hogg presented a petition to Brighton Council to ask for the Brighton Women's Suffrage (WSPU) Banner to be returned to Brighton from Manchester Museum.
We presented a petition of nearly 500 signatures. Well done to all who worked hard to get this outcome and special thanks to Debbie who was instrumental in getting it through the early stages and who proposed the petition.

Between 1909 and 1914 the Women's Social and Political Union had its offices in the centre of Brighton at 8 North Street Quadrant.
Lots of people gathered for a wonderful celebration today as a commemorative plaque for #WSPU was unveiled at Brighton Quadrant by Brighton Pavilion MP Caroline Lucas, pictured here with BHWHG Co-Secretary Maria Hogg.
And here it is!
