2nd blog from Mike

We are having another go at identifying cables in the basement of No13.

After the volunteers' meeting, Bilby and I tried to find out where the cables for the power points go to and from.

First, we were asked to help with lime plaster delivered in a large plasic bag and a builder's bag fixed on a pallet. The plaster is lime putty mixed with sand: we cut open the top of the bag and a team of us formed a chain to get bucket loads of wet sloppy plaster down the steps and into the basement. It was then poured into two large mixing baths. When done, we hosed down the pavement and swept up leaving all clean.

We had been working on the ring main for the power points and progress is very slow.

After lunch, Billby was asked to work in the office, so I had the help of student interns. By the time we went home, we had traced just one power point cable and two for the lighting circuits. It was very cold and damp as the walls are being plastered as we worked.
