The Boarding House

At 4pm on Sunday 6th October we hosted a play reading by the Treasure Theatre, who are all members of the Brighton and Sussex branch of Equity. Their performance was of “The Boarding House or Five House at Brighton” by Samuel Beazley and it was written in 1811.

The play is billed as a ‘musical farce’ which revolves round the goings on at a new boarding house on the Steyne run by a Mr Fidget who was very ably played by Nigel Nevenson. After quite a few pacey rehearsals directed by Carole Bremson, the play was performed with enthusiasm and considerable wit and was very well received by the appreciative audience.

We were completely sold out for this event and as ever, the drawing room was dressed to perfection, the bar was professionally run and the whole event ran seemlessly.
