Description - The College is situated in the Kemp Town district to the east of Brighton. The early parts were designed by Sir Gilbert Scott, RA, 1848 to 1862. Additions were made by Sir Thomas Jackson, RA, an Old Brightonian in 1885. The Hordern Room, a small performance space, was opened in 1995 as part of the College's 150th Anniversary Celebrations. The Performing Arts Centre, incorporating the Café de Paris, music rooms and the Dance Studio, was opened in the summer of 2000. A new Visual Arts Centre was created in 2008, and the new Skidelsky building, was completed in 2010. A new social space, the Smith Building, opened in January 2012.
