St Andrew's Old Church, Hove

Address

Church Road, Hove, East Sussex, BN3 2AD

Description

St Andrew’s Old Church in Church Road, Hove, served as Hove’s parish church for many centuries. However by the early 19th century the structure was in a state of near ruin. It was rebuilt in 1836 as nearly as possible to its original design and the interior of the church between the pillars is contemporary with the original foundations. There are many interesting memorial tablets in the church and in the graveyard are the tombs of several famous persons, including Sir George Everest.
