Bookish Supper Salon – Fashionista Special

Friday 10th March 2017
Doors open at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start

The first Bookish Supper Salon of the year will be held on Friday 10th March and is another Fashionista Special.  Last year’s Fashion evening was a sell out and our next event is bound to be just as popular as we host two exciting and talented authors who share their thoughts, stories and secrets of the fashion world.

Our first author is Frances Tobin, a Brighton-based designer who specialises in colour and textiles. She has worked with leading brands in Italy, the US and the UK and following her passion for designing and making clothes has created patterns for The Maker's Atelier.

February sees the launch of her book ‘The Maker’s Atelier, The Essential Collection’ where she takes key shapes and refines them on the premise that the simplest shapes, in beautiful fabrics, make the most successful clothes.

Frances will show samples of her clothes and for anyone interested in clothes and fashion this is a book that will inspire you to not just make what you see but also to develop your own ideas to create a collection that is unique to you and your style.

Our second author is Tony Glenville who makes a welcome return to the Bookish Supper Salon.

Tony is Creative Director of London College of Fashion as well as a renowned fashion journalist whose work has appeared in The Independent, Harper's Bazaar, Luxure and the Evening Standard. He has an extensive collection of fashion illustration reference materials collected over many years and is author of 'New Icons of Fashion Illustration', a lavish book which offers lively commentary to accompany the images, while interviews with each illustrator provide further insight into their influences and methods.

A popular author at last year’s Fashionista Special, Tony will share fascinating stories and secrets so expect gossip, tips and the low down on a multi-million pound business.

The evening includes a delicious supper and glass of wine.
