Heritage activities

We aim to bring an appreciation of Georgian and Regency history and culture to the widest possible audience. To help us achieve this goal we stage regular seminars on subjects such as Regency fashion, medicine and monarchy and exhibitions looking at issues such as social order during the Regency and the building technology of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

Below are links to reviews of some of our past events or the work that has developed as a consequence of event related collaborations. For a listing of current events see our What's On section.

Open Door

Under the 'Open Door' title we regularly coordinate the opening of historic buildings around Brighton & Hove, as a part of the European Heritage Days initiative. These events provide the public with the opportunity to gain a closer look at some of the city's hidden architectural treasures. We have staged Open Door in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004. We will be organizing such an event again during 2007.
